HTT's Friday post on Seniors

Ah.  i had dinner with 2 seniors, one of which was a retired PMA-grad Officer, Alice - one of my best-est friend and her husband Manny, and my other best-est friend Dale (the four of us are from Sayans - of course Main since there was ONLY ONE THEN) to celebrate Alice's birthday.

seems to me that PWDs - Persons With Disability are discriminated against - in terms of what is given to seniors.  Seniors enjoy a 20% discount and all that VAT advantage. Of course they dont get taxed anymore, or most of them dont, since they are usually retired.  Consider a PWD.  He doesnt get the VAT discount.  Also, if he happens to be employed, he does NOT enjoy any tax break - he is taxed as if he was a regular citizen who suffers no burdens. PWDS all suffer burdens of one kind or another .... physically or otherwise.

i was quite happy to note that the retired Officer agreed with me.  He said to his wife, we are just "old"  but the disabled have burdens we dont have.

Did you hear that Mr. President of the Philippines?  isnt that one of your daan na dapat ituwid???

happy weekend again folks

May i request readers to pray to your God, Whoever you may conceive Him to be

for the following:

those who have died, been injured, or who have lost someone they love in the disaster - in the Boston Marathon disaster, the Texas plant disaster

and also for peace in this world

Keep smiling.

HTT's Friday post: Pension comparisons

... he makes public point with points i have been trying to say forever.
there should be the same level of pensions, but even the tinny increase SSS was asking was shot down by Congress and the Senate so ..... will this come to pass?  dont know ,,,,,,,,,

Have a good weekend everyone

There was a time indeed when payday fell on a Monday when employers would advance payday to Friday... time indeed.  Not in vogue anymore it seems, unless .... maybe for Chinese employers who do not want monies out on a Monday, or as it is called, first day of the new week.

For some employers, they advance it a day early to give their employers the chance to do some weekend shopping in places like Divisoria or Quiapo, places that may be too far for weekday shopping.  Shopping is usually for house needs ... food on the table, things needed by kids, meds, all must things.

Those were the days .... my friend

Happy Weekend just the same
