Reminder only: Always use your SS Number when transacting with SS
Actually, this is a repeat of a reminder post here.
When transacting with any agency or entity, it is always wise to use your ID number.
Thus, with SSS - you need to always use your SS number.
On the other hand, do not publicly reveal your SS number.
So hope this reminder helps you transact with SSS
An important thing to also remember is that the SSS frontline will NOT entertain you without an SSS number, unless you dont know your SS number and in fact, wish to know.
If that is your problem, make sure you bring at least 2 government-issued identification cards (of course, with picture), and your birth certificate.

Have you forgotten your SSS Number?
If you have stopped paying a ways before, and you have forgotten your SSS number and you want to know how to continue paying ....
very easy, go to the SSS office most convenient or nearest to you, armed with 2 IDs, preferably those issued by the government (driver's license, voter's ...) and ask for your SS number. You might want to bring an NSO-issued birth certificate as well - since birthdays can be used as tie-breaker if you have a popular name.
otherwise, the SSS front line will not give you your SSS number.
if you are asking someone else to do it for you, make sure the person has 2 government issued IDs as well and proper authorization from you

wondering about the delay in the delivery of the SSS UMID id?
Yes. Well, yes. SSS stopped production last 16 March due to negotiation failure/breakdown.
They recently resumed production 16 June
They are scheduled to finish their backlog by August.
So for example, you had your picture captured last April 16, you should get your ID released this week.
i hope they keep to their schedule.

SSS_ID update
btw. i talked with one of the SSS-ID guys, never mind who, and he said that they have cleared a lot of backlog. that sounds terribly good to me except that he said that there were also many returns - undelivered mail. so. are you sure your address is still correct? your particular id might be one of those returned.
i dont know if SSS will release the sss numbers of the returned IDs. so that the members might be able to pick them up......

Concerns about the SSS-ID?
Earlier this blog posted a schedule about tentative releases of the SSS-ID
That post will suffice if your ID concern is simply that you want to know when you might be able to get it. The email provided in that post is the email of the person in charge of questions related to the SSS-ID
TIP: if you email any government office regarding your concerns make sure that you provide complete details to identify yourself and your concerns to the government office, and make sure you number your emails. so your first email should have 1, the next one 2, etc. i call this your control number. also, it provides a reference number to the government agency. Up to you if you want to do the same.
so for SSS, this should include your SSS Number, complete correct name, your concern - and describe this as fully as you can (ikwento mo, kung kailangan), and what i call a reference number.
This post is to specifically assist with other ID-related concerns
1. For example, if you lost your ID and you need a new one -no problem. Fill-up a new E-6 and make sure you have an affidavit of loss, duly notarized then go to the nearest SSS office to have your picture again. This new
ID will cost you, so make sure all your data is correct. DO look at the
screen that displays all your data.
Dapat tama lahat yung laman nun. Kung hindi, pumiyok kayo at sabihin dun sa nagbabantay.
instructions for the E-6
The E-6.
2. If something is erroneous in your ID, then you need to correct it before you apply for a new one, and i refer you to topic 1 above when you are ready to get a new one. However, changes in any data reflected in your ID need to have documentation.
Ika nga, kailangan ng prueba kasi para katotohanan ang pag-ayos.
If the error is a data-entry error of SSS, bring your E1 copy if you have it and SSS can rectify the error. Otherwise, you need to bring an NSO-issued birth certificate or other legal document - such as passport, or your alien card if you are an immigrant or no longer a Filipino citizen.
this is the E-1 form, in case you have forgotten. baka nalimutan ninyo na.
Remember, if you just need to update your SSS records, you need not apply for a new SSS-ID.
For example, adding a child or children. If you are male, adding your spouse. If you are female, and you are changing your last name, you need to have a new ID card.
again. for ID-concerns email carungaybf@sss.gov.ph
again. if you are hitting snags, let me know (comment on this post) and i will try to bring it to the attention of SSS management so that things can be rectified. But only if he cannot help you. He is trying his best, do remember.
