Good news - SSS increases Funeral Benefit effective for contingencies on or after 1 August 2015

The new computation of the funeral grant is as follows

Examples:

if your AMSC is 15,000 and you have worked for 300 months, then the funeral grant for you would be:

20,000 + (0.5%  x  300 x 15,000 )  = 20,000.00 + 22,500 = 40,000. because the maximum is 40,000.00

One of the fundamental documents needed for these claims is the Death Certificate
If the Death Certificate contains errors - there is NOTHING else to be done except to have this corrected.  Okay?

Nothing else.

The
the SSS funeral benefit is a cash amount that used to be 12,000 at the time RA 8282 was promulgated.  It was increased to 20,000 effective 2000.
