The article talks about several interesting bills that are .... shall we say, laying about Congress
Several bills are on increasing retirement pensions ....
such as those seeking to raise the SSS minimum from 1,200 to 1,300 then to 3,000, and further to 5,000
of course i have my eyebrows on stun (like Spock's, i mean)
nice bills, but like he says also, sort of doomed to linger .....
there is a similar one for the government employees - which is to use the last pay as basis - same as the Armed Forces. I just want to say that soldiers have more risks than the usual government employee so i dont think that is exactly kosher .....
The plans for the senior citizens ... housing etc... is similar to the US Federal grant for seniors, there is special housing for seniors, but one has to queue for it. i've seen some of these residences in the US, and the well-run ones are certainly very nice.
i do miss though plans for the disabled, i am of course, one of them.
and i have gone on small rants in this bkig about broken promises from P-Noy about this.
So much for equal opportunity for the disabled .... there is not even a tax break for the disabled, there should be - to encourage the disabled to work, and not wait for hand-outs. i think the disabled should be granted double the exemptions of regular people -
paging P-Noy and his supporters, or has he lost a lot of them already?

Click here to read the article on a tax holiday
bir's Henares truly has an onerous tax system.
the main victims? me. you. the salaried employees who have no choice but to be taxed, grossly.
off the top. i feel abused.
i am a PWD, that is, a person with disability. my meds cost me over 30k .... ouch, really.
and the government, and PNOY and HENARES does not give me, and others like me a tax break.
taxes me like any regular person.. evil people i think sometimes. unselfish too are thoughts that run in my mind. COMEON!
and here you have government - corrupt in so many areas in so many ways

Paging President P-Noy and Commish Kim Henares
Let us talk Environment. and only Environment.
Think of all the trees that had to be cut to generate all that paper that BIR has apparently ordered destroyed to assist in the collection of correct taxes. why do these documents have to be destroyed? cant BIR just stamped them to be good enough for more years? i dont know, but there must be a better solution than simple destruction and great wastage. there are brilliant minds, go mine these minds. drop by the Philippine Science Main Campus and ask for ideas,,,,,,
i already have a beef with BIR because i am over-taxed, i am taxed as a regular single person when i am, in fact, also recognized by the government as a physically disabled person. my meds and my pt are expensive, and yet, i have to pay for all my meds that a regular person does not have to.....
there is another bill in congress that persons taking care of disabled persons will have a greater exemption amount, BUT the disabled person who is working gets no break at all. i ask where is the justice in that?
is this the daan na matuwid i hear so much about? doesnt seem that way to me......does it seem that way to you?
also, i read the post by ducky paredes and the infamous MWSS - they are still getting the perks..... so again? where is the justice?
i am hoping that there will be a light somewhere

RA 10524
Wow. Did i call it or what....didnt i just post something on this last April 30? But the doing, or the teeth of such an Act depends on its implementing guidelines. Filipinos are over-taxed because regular employees are taxed under the Gross Income Scheme, and yet, we pay real estate taxes with monies that have been already grossly taxed and poor working PWDs are even worse off, they are over-over-taxed. No additional benefit because they work and no VAT relief on the medicines they have to purchase, unlike the Seniors?
Burdens upon burdens indeed.
However, as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and this Act depends on the IRR that will be drawn up hopefully soon.
The agencies involved in drafting the IRR are:
DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment)
CSC (Civil Service Commission)
NCDA (National Council on Disability Affairs)
GCG (Governance Commission for Goverment-Owned or Government-Controlled Corporations
DOH (Department of Health)
DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development)
and the most burdensome agency
BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue)
