From both sides now

do you remember this song? it is by Joni Mitchell
and i recall it everytime there is a political debate .......

Bows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels
The dizzy dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care, don't let them know
Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take, and still somehow
It's love's illusions I recall
I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say "I love you" right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way

Oh but now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads, they say I've changed
Well something's lost but something's gained
In living every day

I've looked at life from both sides now
From WIN and LOSE and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

I've looked at life from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

Sayans - II

I can feel  -ber coming.

and with it,  the Anniversary of the Philippine Science High School comes to mind

I have the new T-shirt.  The one with the words of the Song, or the Science Hymn.
When my batchmates and I graduated from Sayans, we sang the this one -

Cora Andres, now Cora Andres-Bisda  did the honors and played the piano for all of us

ORIGINAL ENGLISH VERSION
BY MARIO TAQUIWALO
Philippine Science High
Thou stands above with thy thoughts that lift
And fit all thy sons with wings
To lend us flight in the sowing of our gifts
Oh, Philippine Science High,
Thy wisdom arms our youth
As we reach for our dreams, as we strive for our goals
As we seach for the untarnished truth
Philippine Science High,
The PSHS in us will grow
And go as we wander o’er
The crests and troughs of the sea of life that flows
Oh Philippine Science High
Thy light our beacon be
In our path through the world, in our fight for the right
In pursuit of a glorious thee

Our Batch Song

What the world needs now is love sweet love,
It*s the only thing that there*s just too little of.
What the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some but for everyone.

Lord we don*t need another mountain,

There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb,
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last until the end of time

What the world needs now is love sweet love,

it*s the only thing that theres just too little of,
what the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some but for everyone

Lord, we dont need another meadow,

there are corn fields and wheat fields enough to grow,
there are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine,
oh listen Lord, if you want to know

What the world needs now is love sweet love,

its the only thing that theres just too little of.
what the world needs now is love sweet love,
no not just for some, oh but just for every every everyone.

what the world (whoa whoa) needs now,

is love (is love) sweet love
what the world ( oh oh) needs now
is love (is love) sweet love
what the world (whoa whoa) needs now
is love (is love) sweet love

I was at the Philippine Science High School when there was only one campus and it was  the Diliman campus at Agham Road, Quezon City where i hope it will remain til the world ends

one does not move a Harvard or any Ivy League school for any reason, does it?
and the campus has produced many talented individuals ......
Jimmy, my classmate, calls it simply sentimental
that is partly true, but sentiment and nostalgia is powerful
and for many logical reasons, my friend Roselmo Doval-Santos can articulate for me
