ACOP. an SSS acronym meaning Annual Confirmation of Pensioners
The Annual Confirmation of Pensioners arose as a method by which the SSS can verify that pensioners are still alive. All pensioners - retirees, disability pensioners, survivorship pensioners (spouses of deceased member pensioners) are required to show proof that they are alive or are still unmarried.
Mechanics: SSS sends letter asking pensioner to go to either his bank or the nearest SSS office to prove he or she is alive and well. Usually this letter is send a month before the pensioner's birth month. The pensioner then has his entire birth month to schedule his visit. Suspension of the pension occurs usually a month after the pensioner's birth month.
So to prevent discontinuation of pension, please go to the nearest SSS office on your birth month to prove you are alive. If you cannot due to health/disability reasons, please request a visit from sss. Note that SSS allows a representative to assist with the ACOP.
for example. The pensioner's birthday is Feb 23. Provided that all is well, the ACOP letter will be sent in December so that the pensioner will receive it in January, a month before his birth month. So the pensioner will use February to visit the SSS office. If he or she does not do so, by April the pension will be suspended.
Many members say that they did not get any letter. Well, the SSS is not responsible for the delivery of the letters. It is the duty of the Post Office. However, remember the storms? Perhaps some of the post offices were flooded and the letters lost.
BTW, as an update, pensioners who are receiving their pensions through banks should go to the banks for their ACOP. hopefully there will be less congestion in the bank. please comment if there are problems with through-the-bank-ACOPs.

para hwag maputol yung pensyon, sana yung mga pensionado eh magpunta sa pinakamalapit na opisina ng SSS para magpakita sa buwan ng kanilang kaarawan. Kung hindi kaya magpunta dahil sa kapansanan, humingi ng bisita sa SSS. Paki click dung sa mga forms. Tingnan ninyo yung form. Meron forms na back-to-back, paki-print ng back-to-back din. Salamat.
