SSS response to Calamities


i was going to discuss loans from various institutions - but let me do a quick post on the special announcement of SSS in view of the recent calamities.  here is the gist of the announcement.  i hope that readers of this blog may be helped by this post.

To  provide  assistance  for  SSS  members/pensioners  who  were affected  by southwest  monsoon  in  the  declared  and  may be  declared  calamity  areas by  the National  Disaster  Risk  Reduction  and Management  Council  (NDRRMC) the  following are for strict compliance:

Three-month  advance pension  for  SSS  pensioners  

1. Existing  SS  retiree,  disability  and  survivor  pensioners  whose  residence  is  located  in the calamity areas  declared by NDRRMC.  For  pensioners  receiving  both  SS  and  EC  pensions,  only  their  SS  pension  benefits shall  be  given  in  advance.

2. Qualified pensioners  may  apply  for a three-month  advance  pension:
October  to December  2012,  if  filed  on  or  before 31  August  2012 
November  2012  Io  January  2013,  if  filed  on  or before  30 September  2012

However,  the  13th  month  pension is excluded.

3. The  application  must  be  filed  on  or  before  30  September  2012 together with a Certification from the Barangay Chairman that pensioner is a resident of the area should Part III not be accomplished.  Application  forms filed  beyond  the  deadline  will not be accepted.  Release will be through a Special Voucher (or a Cheque), not through a bank deposit.

Documentary requirements  for  funeral  and  death  claims  for  submission  by  the  claimants  of the  deceased  members  

1  The  Certificate  of  Missing  Person  believed to be dead issued by the NDRRMC  in  times of  disaster.

2.  Notarized  undertaking  executed  by the claimant  in the form prescribed  by the System  stating  that  the funeral  and  death  claim benefits  will be  returned  should  the member  appear  and  proven  to  be  alive.

The  usual  procedures  on  the  processing  of  funeral  and  death claims  shall be followed.


Salary  Loan  Early  Renewal  Program  (SLERP)  for  SSS  members 

Covered under the program are currently  employed,  self-employed  or  voluntary  (SEA,/M)  members,  whose residence  or  place  of  work  is  in  the  declared  calamity  areas  by  NDRRMC


ELIGIBLE  APPLICANTS
1  Borrowers  with at  least  36  monthly  contributions  (for  a one-month  loan)  or  72 monthly contributions {for a  two-month  loan),  six  (6)  of  which  should  be  posted within  the  12  months  prior  to  the  month  of  filing  of  the application.  One month refers to the corresponding MSC (Monthly Salary Credit)

2  Borrowers  who  availed  of the  penalty  condonation  program.  The  sanction  for the loan  renewal  under  the  condonation  program  shall  be  lifted  for  those  who  would avail  of  SLERP.

TERMS  AND  CONDITIONS
1.  Last day of filing is  30  September  2012.
2.  Service  fee  is  waived.
3.  The  loan  shall  be  charged  an  interest  rate  of  ten percent  ('10%)  per  annum  until fully  paid,  based  on  diminishing principal  balance,  and  shall  be  amortized  over  a period  of  24  months.
4  The  net  amount  of  the loan  is  the  difference  between  the  approved  loan amount  and  the  previous  loan  balance.
5.  Penalty  of  1%  per  month  on loan  remittance  not  remitted  on due  date  shall  be imposed.
6.  Repayment  term  is two  (2)  years.   However,  any  principal  balance  after  the maturity date  of  the  loan  shall  continue  to  accrue  interest  until  fully  paid.

Please remember that you must reside or work in an NDRRMC-declared calamity area to qualify for these programs.  Otherwise your application will just be rejected and you will have wasted time, effort, and money.


Paalala:  Dapat lang ay nakatira kayo o nagtratrabaho sa lugar na na-ideklara na ng NDRRMC na calamity area.  Kung hindi ay masasayang lang ang abala at gastos ninyo at ma-reject lang ang inyong application.
