Tiangge at SSS

Yesterday saw the opening of the SSS tiangge and the location is near the MAC (Member's Assistance Center). The tiangge will be from 3-21 December 2012.  however, i was only able to check it out today, and i only did a quick browse.

SSS Tiangge near the MAC.  Open to the Public.
3-21 DECEMBER 2012.

i thought i would just repeat the salient points.

Items on sale.  Food.  Glorious food.  Drinkies.  Veggies and Weaves (from Baguio).  Items from Bicol (Bags and other stuff, including food).    Knick-Knacks or Abubut.  Clothes. Baby Stuff.  Curtains. Pillows. Pillow cases. Cushions
i wish to urge the public to go visit the North Luzon Cooperative booth.  The veggies are terrific and fresh! and cost-effective.  i am thinking of buying more veggies so i can eat fresh lumpiang gulay (vegetable spring roll), with litsugas  (lettuce) and brown sauce (soy sauce, thickener, and muscovado sugar or honey)and oodles of bawang (garlic).  Of course one can have ubod instead of simple veggies, but i like either one and my assistant does not know how to buy ubod. i love veggies, and well - it is healthy.  too bad no one is selling ubod.  i would have bought immediately, not just for me to eat but also to bring home.....

ubod comes from the bark of the coconut tree and it is absolutely delicious.  You can try the fresh/fried ubod lumpia at Max's or this little store in Kamuning called Lucky 21.  If you need their number, leave a comment or text me at this pre-paid number +639202761052.  Replies will be posted on this blog.

The North Luzon Coop booth also features weaves - as tapestries and as table napkin sets.

am thinking of buying one of the tapestries.  One is 650, 2'x4' and one is slimmer, about 1x4 and cost 350.
the thinner one's colors are black and orange whereas the sexy one is mostly green with reds.  the design? just a couple of jars.  very pretty. i didnt bring a camera, otherwise i would have pictures to share.  i am tempted to buy the big one but am not sure where to place it.  Only the dining and kitchen area at home are green and the dining room has a carving of the Last Supper (from Paete) and a beautiful 1000-piece puzzle picture that i had framed.

Of course if you have relatives in the US or other foreign lands, this would make a great gift.  i didnt see any coasters, but they should have them soon.

i did buy a scratcher ... this one was small and cute.  i have larger ones at home - and they work wondrously well for back itches.

too bad the Bicol booth did not feature what i call Bicol slippers.  i have tons of these at home because they soothe my feet (i have sensitive feet that i need to pamper). Some of these Bicol slippers break easily (or maybe the fault is mine)  but some of them last long.  i like both styles but my feet prefers the one that break easily because they like the texture.  it feels like my feet are getting a massage.  Since they break easily, now you would understand why i have lots of these kind of slippers........  BUT, maybe they will have the slippers soon.  i do hope so.

i generally dress the house on special times.  Christmas is always special, particularly since my birthday is between Christmas and New Year and so, this means the house is specially dressed during the season.  This explains my attraction to curtains..... although the house is already dressed - at least the sala and the dining areas are.  i opted for string curtains this year...... got it from the internet - anyway, i rather like the translucent curtains but they had too many gold stuff.  i like gold, but i like them the way dragons do.......

the throw pillowcases are rather pretty -. but, i forgot to ask costs. i had pain from both legs so i was a little off - hence my internet shopping.  but i did remember to ask how much the chair pillows were.  they were 189 pesos each.

there were about 10 shops featuring clothes.  i didnt have time to really look but maybe next time.
