Living Alone - points to think about

are you one of those who live alone?  or know someone who lives alone? maybe a parent, an aunt, or a friend?

living alone is tough. although it isnt about being lonely or having to clean house or having nothing to eat.
nope.  living alone is tough because one cannot delegate anything. living alone is tough because there are times when one might need someone.

think having a bad dream and no one to wake you.
if one had a significant other (SO), then odds are - the SO will wake and wake one.

one whimsical notion is not to have a bad dream.  you know how to do that?

i found one that works.  i bought a dream catcher  - i have several, 2 of which are authenticated dream catchers from an Indian (not from India, okay?), the politically correct term is from the First Nation (in the USA).  Her name is Morning Sparrow and she can be found on ebay.  Why did i have to import from the USA?  i wanted an authenticated dream catcher.  Dream catchers are part of the First Nation's legends and tales - and i wanted the bad dreams (nightmares) to stop.

what bad dreams?  dreams can be prophetic ones, and i do not want any more prophetic dreams - especially in these times of great problems. the world being in such a mess.

i gave a friend who is single one of those authentic dream catchers.  She travels a lot so i couldnt give her the large full-blown ones so i gave her the small version.  it is a key ring, so she can take it anywhere.

but you know, the shipping time is very long so if you, my reader, want one - have someone buy it in the USA or Canada, then have it hand-carried to Manila.  i have 3 in my bedroom - one is a huge dream catcher, one is a key ring like my friend's, and then i have a  "unauthenticated inexpensive" one that i bought locally.  materials from authenticated ones have undergone "spirit-cleaning" and rituals. i think these matter very much.

i havent had a bad dream since i got the real dream catchers.  the unauthenticated one had me dreaming a bad dream, but in the dream, someone wrapped the dream reality - which was horrible - and handed it to me.  the moment the ball of dream reality touched my hands, i woke up.  not bad for an inexpensive one. it must be sad that the person who sold me the unauthenticated one was someone who wished me well. that is probably as important.

if you want to know more about dream catchers, do comment.

think having an accident in the bathroom and no one to call.
actually this one can happen even if you are not alone.  thing is, preventive measures are all i can think of .....

have safety bars in the bathroom - one for the bathing area and one for the throne.
have them in all the bathrooms.

carry a cell phone in the bathroom - so you can call out if anything untoward should happen.
or find and purchased a megaphone - this might be a little better than a cell phone because one just uses the megaphone.  no need to dial anything.

think having to handle simple domestic emergencies and cannot delegate to anyone
even if it is as simple as a water pipe leak or needing a gas tank replacement, one has to handle these matters personally and if they happen to on a work day, one would have to take a bit of time off to handle the emergency.

think about not feeling too well
one needs help to go to the emergency room.  or pack up for confinement.  if you have a physician who takes care of you, they'd arrange the hospitalization documents - and well, the economy being what it is, patients need someone to stay with them - generally, that is.

or even if one does not have to go to the hospital, if one is not feeling well, one needs help with  food, and some assistance.  i think chicken soup helps, so one may need someone who can cook chicken soup.  buying one doesnt seem to have the same efficacy.

there are other circumstances about living alone, which i will save for a "rainy" day.
